Some of our traveling fans are pleased, others are disappointed, as restructuring has meant fewer trips to mushy pea territory. Last year I experienced the brightest green peas I had ever seen at Bedworth, our next port of call , near Coventry!

The locals at Bedworth are always interested in how Nuneaton are getting on and this is why their record attendance in the Southern League , set against Nuneaton on 23 February 1982, totaled 5127. An impressive statistic, but viewing the game must have been tricky because, unusually for our level of football, there is no terracing to be seen at Bedworth’s ground. There is also a complete absence of standing cover. However, the 300 seater stand is well positioned on the half way line and is high enough to give an excellent view of the action.

Unfortunately, in the last two years the action we have seen has not been great because of the horribly worn state of the end of season pitch. I understand that the club is

awaiting negotiations regarding the lease with the council, prior to re-laying the pitch and making further improvements.

1˝miles from M6 Junction 3, take B4113 Coventry/Bedworth road and after third set of lights (Bedworth Leisure Centre) ground is 200 yards on right opposite cemetery.
