Taunton were beaten 3-0 by an Exeter City XI in their latest pre-season friendly at Wordsworth Drive yesterday evening (9 August). All the goals came after the break following an opening half in which Town had come closest to scoring. Elliott Freer put Exeter ahead two minutes after the restart and a Jake Gosling penalty made it 2-0 on 72 minutes. Matt Jay added a third on 89 minutes. Match review now online.
Manager Leigh Robinson said after the game:" I was pleased with the first half performance but our play became fragmented in the second period with the number of substitutions, which hasn't happened up to now but we haven't played a side of Exeter's quality. It was a worthwhile exercise and not as one-sided as the score would suggest." |
