NEW SIGNINGS BOOST TOWN SQUAD

Taunton include three new signings in their squad when they resume their Evo-Stik League campaign against Swindon Supermarine at Wordsworth Drive tomorrow (22 September), kick-off 3.00pm. This will be Town’s first game since their FA Cup exit and in response to that defeat and some recent performances, manager Leigh Robinson has signed Craig Mawford, Andy Robertson and Joe Dakwa.

Defender Mawford arrives from Bridgwater Town and striker Dakwa from Bitton, with both having previously played for Town during the 2006-7 season. Locally-based midfielder Robertson was also formerly at Bridgwater Town until March and has since been with Bideford.  The Town boss commented:” I’m delighted to welcome Craig, Andy and Joe to the club. All three have played for me before so I am fully aware of their capabilities but most importantly they are good talkers and experienced at this level which is something we badly need right now.”

Missing the game tomorrow are Rob Norrish and Owen Irish who are both unavailable. Former skipper Andy Butler has also left the club and joined Wellington.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s fixture, Robinson said: ” Whilst our showing in our last match obviously wasn’t good enough, I know that there is a lot of ability at the club. This is a big game against Swindon Supermarine and what I want to see most is a reaction. If we get that, I'm sure we will get a result.”
