It’s another Cup weekend for Taunton when they play away to Tiverton Town in the 1st round of the Red Insure Cup tomorrow (6 October), kick-off 3.00pm. The Peacocks were originally scheduled to travel to Merthyr Town for an Evo-Stik League fixture but the Welsh side will instead be taking on AFC Totton in the FA Cup, meaning Town were potentially facing a blank weekend until the Red Insure game was brought forward.
Taunton will be out to avenge the 2-1 defeat they suffered eleven days ago at Ladysmead in a League fixture but will have to do without their goalscorer that evening, Rodney Marsh, who tomorrow serves a one game suspension incurred by the two yellow cards he received against Swindon Supermarine. Captain Simon Ingram is still a doubt due to a groin strain that has forced him to miss the last two matches, but left-sided player Lee Smyth returns to the squad after being absent at a wedding last weekend. Tomorrow’s tie will be settled by extra time and penalties if required.
The away League game at Wimborne Town which had to be postponed on 27 October due to Town’s FA Trophy match at Chesham United, has now been rearranged for Tuesday 4 December, kick-off 7.45pm. There has also been a date change for the Somerset Premier Cup tie with Brislington which has been put back one night to Wednesday 7 November, kick-off 7.45pm.
