Taunton’s title hopes suffered a blow with this defeat.
Both teams could have scored early on – Taunton full back Pierce Mitchell had a deflected shot after just two minutes which was saved by home keeper Hafed Al-Droubi and just two minutes later an Antony O’Connor header went just wide.
The game entered a quiet spell but Dan Sullivan shot just over after 17 minutes.
The only goal arrived after 27 minutes and it was a penalty from home captain Ryan Moss after Ed Palmer had been penalized for a foul on O’Connor.
The Peacocks had several chances in the last ten minutes of the first half – a through ball by skipper Matt Wright sent Andrew Neal clear after 36 minutes but his shot went just over and Neal had a good opportunity after 43 minutes when Al-Droubi was out of his goal but Adam Pepera came to Harrow’s rescue. Right on half time Ed Palmer had the chance to equalize with a free kick but it went straight to Al-Droubi and Harrow went in at the break with a narrow lead.
The home side created the better chances early in the second half with Moss and O’Connor both going close. Taunton keeper Lloyd Irish made a good save from Moss but neither side really threatened.
The closest Taunton came to scoring was after 77 minutes following the rare award of an indirect free kick from a Joshua Andrew back pass. Neal rolled the free kick to Ryan Brett but shots by Craig Veal and Dan Sullivan were both blocked and the chance was gone.
Taunton carried on enjoying plenty of possession but were unable to create any more chances and at the final whistle it was the home side who were able to celebrate a narrow victory.
