The Peacocks saw their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik South Premier Division cut to four points following a 1-1 draw with Dorchester Town at the Viridor Stadium (5 Jan).

Town piled on the pressure from the kick-off and it paid off on 10 minutes as Latham palmed Wright’s shot into the path of Rocky Neal to open the scoring. The Peacocks continued to create chance after chance but failed to convert them. The Magpies made Town rue the missed opportunities as a failed clearance landed at Camp’s feet to pick out the roof of the net to level the score line which is how it remained until the full time whistle.

Following the match Rob Dray remarked, “We had enough chances to kill the game in the first half and ultimately we defended poorly for their goal. A bit of context needs to be taken into account and there is a long way to go in this campaign. The lads are naturally disappointed because of the standards they set themselves.”
