The Peacocks continue their busy league schedule as they welcome Beaconsfield Town to the Viridor Stadium tomorrow evening (9 Jan), 7.45pm.

This rearranged fixture provides Taunton with the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table to 7 points as Salisbury and Weymouth participate in the Buildbase FA Trophy this week. The Rams are now well known to the Peacocks, the last time the two clubs met was the final game of the 2017/18 campaign as the two clubs faced off to decide the “Champion of Champions” which saw Taunton earn the crown with a 4-2 victory at the Viridor Stadium.

It could be said that as both clubs are newcomers to the Southern Premier Division they have exceeded expectations this term but have proved they can more than compete. The Rams currently sit just outside the Play-off positions and Town will need to guard against any complacency if they are to send their guests home empty handed.

Rob Dray’s side are yet to taste victory in 2019 and will be inching to regain that winning feeling in front of a home crowd. Taunton’s Head of Football names the same squad that faced Dorchester Town at the weekend with both Ryan Brett and Ben Adelsbury pushing for a start following their recent injuries.

Commenting ahead of the match Rob Dray said, “Tomorrow gives us a chance to get straight back to business.  We have a couple of injuries that have cleared up and we should be a little stronger. We have learnt teams set themselves up differently when they travel to us so we have to be more patient and clinical in front of goal. Most of all, we must concentrate more when we don’t have the ball.”
