The Peacocks booked their place in the Somerset Premier Cup Final at Huish Park after a spirited comeback to seal a 2-1 victory at Badgers Hill yesterday evening (26 Mar).

Taunton trailed Frome at the break courtesy of Johnny Gorman’s deflected strike in the 20th minute. A response was needed to ensure Town were to progress into the Final. Lewis Hall produced a fantastic finish from the edge of the area on 64 minutes and the comeback was complete thanks to the club’s skipper Matt Wright who towered above the host’s defence to head home the winner 9 minutes from time.

The Final pits the Peacocks up against National League South Weston-super-Mare on 7th May, 7.45pm.

A delighted Rob Dray remarked, “It’s another win and another Final for us. To top it off, Wrighty grabbed a goal and two great cameos from our young players. It now gives us even more to look forward to at the end of the season and no doubt we have a happy fanbase after that result.”
