The Peacocks earned their 7th league victory on the spin after what was possibly the greatest comeback ever witnessed at the Viridor Stadium over Salisbury (28 Nov).

Lewis Hall gave the Peacocks the advantage on the turn of the 20th minute but it only took the hosts 60 seconds to get back on par and both sides went in level at half time.

It only took four minutes from the restart for Lewis Hall to restore the lead with a Goal of the Season contender from 25 yards and it remained that way until the 80th minute where a crazy final 10 minutes took place. A low cross into the Peacocks’ area was turned in to his own net by Josh Nelmes to once again draw the scores level. 2 minutes later Salisbury took the lead from the penalty spot and Nelmes made amends for his earlier own goal by heading home Brett’s free kick at the far post.

In the 93rd minute Matt Buse sent the Viridor Stadium into eruption as his glancing header found the bottom corner to secure the victory.

Reaction | Head of Football Rob Dray said, “An incredible finale to a great game in so many respects. This group never say die and always find a way to turn it around, even when we’re not at our best. All credit to Salisbury for making it as hard as we have had it this season but it’s still 3 points and there are things we have to be better at in our game management, so heads down and we go again Saturday ”
